Turism.

Muxia is one of the most amazing places of Costa da Morte. Its privilege location in a peninsula, offers us the possibility of enjoying wonderful landscapes over the Camariñas estuary, the Vilán lighthouse or O Cachelmo and A Buitra capes. From the rocks of Corpiño Mountain, we gaze at the best views over the city canter and surroundings. Behind this rocky mountain is the tip of A Barca hidden, a place of obligated visit for any tourist, where the sanctuary is built dedicated to this Virgin and the well known rocks of Abalar and Os Cadrís.

But the village itself also offers touristic interest places like the parish church of Santa María, the air conger dryers, the house-museum of the photographer Ramón Caamaño and the old side of the village.

Apart of being attractive to tourists looking for rest, landscapes, heritage or gastronomy, Muxía, shows other charms like the one of being with Fisterra, end of the Jacobus route that goes from Santiago de Compostela, towards the sea and the most western lands of Europe. This makes us been visited during all the years by pilgrims of all around the world.

Gastronomy.

Another of the great incentives of Muxía is the gastronomy. Its condition of sea port makes possible to enjoy excellent fish and shellfish based dishes. Mackerel, ballan wrasse, Atlantic Pollock, hake or grouper, are appropriated fishes to prepare the caldeirada, typical sailors dish. But we also have other specialities like Galician octopus, calamari in its own ink, conger stew of grilled sardines and mackerels. The most inviting of the Muxía cuisine is perhaps its own coast shellfishes like the barnacles, the velvet crab, lobster or the spinouts spider crab, all of them fished in this wild sea that washes out on our sea coast.

The inlands are producers of good quality meat, potatoes, beans, vegetables, necessary ingredients for elaborating a variety of dishes. All theses raw materials mentioned before makes the muxian cuisine inviting and varied.
